This year, the Innovative Retail Lab (IRL) of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) will present its most recent developments at the CeBIT exhibtion in Hannover, Germany. From March 16th to March 20th, researchers of the IRL will show technological innovations for the retail sector.
The new and improved version of the Productfinder can be seen at the DFKI exhibition stand (Hall 9, stand F43). The Productfinder 2.0, which is already in use at the Globus retail store in Koblenz-Bubenheim, Germany, lets users search for specific products and shows the results on a store map. Moreover we present a mobile version of the Productfinder for your smartphone which lets you plan your shopping tour with a shopping list and acitvely navigates you to your wanted products.
At the Saarland University stand (Hall 9, stand E13), members of the IRL present a system for collaborative text reading on public displays. The system enables multiple users at a time to read newspaper articles on a large screen in a public area, for example while waiting for the bus. Eyetracking technology detects where users are reading and automatically scrolls the text according to their reading speed. The new system allows not only for a better presentation of information but also transfers more information through text than other systems do via videos.
